From key to first answer.

Everything you need to look up, validate and autocomplete Dutch and Belgian addresses from the official registers, whichever way you come in.

Quickstart

  1. Get a test key

Sign up with email or GitHub and create a key in the dashboard. Test keys are free: 100 calls a day.

    Open API keys
  2. Make your first call

Plain HTTPS and JSON. One request, one answer.

    First call
  3. Handle the four statuses

valid, corrected, ambiguous, invalid, and what your form should do with each.

    Statuses
Your first call
curl "https://api.rightdoor.eu/v1/nl/lookup?postcode=2513AA&number=1&lang=en" \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $RIGHTDOOR_KEY"
# → 4 addresses: none, A, B, D · Kadaster BAG
# nextStep: "This number has several addresses (A, B, D). Ask the

Keys

Secret keys
rd_live_… and rd_test_…, for your server. Send them as Authorization: Bearer; a key in a URL is refused. Creating a live key needs two-factor authentication. Up to 2 active keys per type, so you can rotate without downtime.
Test keys
The same data and answers, free: 100 calls a day and 10 a minute, never counted.
Publishable keys
rd_pk_… for web pages (the address fields): a live one works only from the sites you list and only for address checks, with a daily cap (1,000 by default).
AI assistants
No key: they sign in to your account and ask your permission. How it works.
